Adding Content to Tables
This tutorial illustrates adding content to tables in Dreamweaver CS5.
Now let's add some content to our table.

To enter text into a cell by typing, place the cursor in the cell and type. As a general rule, Dreamweaver adjusts the size of each cell as you enter content into it.

When you want to enter content into the second cell, click in it (or press the Tab key) and note that as you exit the first cell Dreamweaver adjusts again. Since none of the other cells has any content yet, Dreamweaver gives almost all of the width in the first row to the first cell.

Now type a similar amount of content into the second cell. On exit from that cell see how Dreamweaver distributes the space.

To insert an image into a cell you can use the Insert Image command.
However, you can also use the Assets Panel. If the Assets Panel isn't already open, use the Windows menu to open it. The Assets Panel lists various resources available to you, including images you have used.

Select one of the button images. Note that it is previewed in the top of the Assets Panel.

Use the mouse to drag the image into the third cell in the top row of the table. Add the Alt Text when requested, and this is how the table now looks.

When typing text in a cell press Return to start a new paragraph, which inserts a <p> tag. To start a new line without the extra blank space press Shift+Return. This inserts a <br> tag.

You can format the text in a cell by selecting and then using the tools in the Properties Panel. For example, select some of the text in the first cell on the second row and press the Bold key.

Alternatively, select the text and use the commands (e.g. the alignment commands) on the format menu.
