Amazon Affiliate Income is a good way to monetize your website and it's one of the oldest and longest running affiliate programs on the Web. The basic idea behind the Amazon program is that you provide links or advertisements that link to books or other products on the Amazon website. For example if you have a website that includes information and tutorials about creating PowerPoint presentations, you could add a link to books about PowerPoint(Microsoft® Office PowerPoint® 2007 Step by Step (Step By Step (Microsoft)), that when a reader clicks on, goes to the Amazon page that sells the book or projector. The link is coded with information about you, the affiliate. If the visitor who clicked on your link buys a book or a projector or any product that you link to from your website, Amazon pays you a small commission on the sale.
On my GuidesandTutorials website, I recently sold an LCD projector for $682.36. As an Amazon Associate they paid me a 4% commission of $27.29 for referring the customer to their site.
Optoma HD65 720p DLP Home Theater Projector - $682.36 @ 4.00% = $27.29
