Closing a Web Page File in CS5
This tutorial illustrates closing a web page file in Dreamweaver CS5.
When you've finished working on a web page for the moment you will probably want to close it, and if you don't need it open that's usually a good idea. Closing pages you're not working on frees up some memory on your PC, and it reduces the chances of work being lost. It can also reduce the confusion of having too many pages open at once and losing track.
Closing a Web Page File
The basic way of closing a page is to use Close on the File menu.

If you have made changes to the page since you last saved it, Dreamweaver asks you if you want to save those changes.

If you want to save the changes, answer Yes. If you want to discard them, select No.
There is also a keyboard shortcut, and it's Ctrl+W.
If you have several pages open at once, you can close them all using the Close All option on the File menu.

If you use this option Dreamweaver asks you about saving changes for each of the pages that have been changed since you last changed them.
There's a keyboard shortcut for Close All as well, and it's Ctrl+Shift+W.
Finally, when you want to exit Dreamweaver you can use the Exit command from the bottom of the File menu.

If you have any pages open with unsaved changes, Dreamweaver asks you about saving changes before it exits.
There are some alternatives for exiting Dreamweaver. You can use the Close button (the cross) from the top right hand corner of the screen.

And, of course, there's a keyboard shortcut, and it's Ctrl+Q.
