Create a Web Page - Dreamweaver CS5
Now that we have a site we need to create some web pages for it. This tutorial will show you how to create a web page using Dreamweaver CS5.
Once we have pages, we can load static and dynamic content onto the pages, add a navigation system to move around the pages, and we have a web site.
Although we can create some very complex and impressive pages, the very first thing we need to cover is how to create a page. Let's do that now.
Create a Web Page From the File Menu
One way to create a page is to click on the File menu then click New.

Select the Blank Page category on the left, then a page type of HTML. We'll talk about the other options later.
For the layout choose 1 column liquid, centered for now. We'll look at the other options here later as well.
There are several options on the right in this dialog, and we'll come back to those.
For now, just click on Create and your new page is created.

Note that the new page gas some instructions on it, but don't worry about them!
Above the page is a box labelled Title that currently contains the text Untitled Document. You can use this box to give your page a title.
Add Content to a Web Page
We haven't actually done anything to the content of the page yet. Page contents can be anything from text to animation, video, audio and so on. We'll be looking at these options later. But for now, let's just save our new page. Click on the File menu and select Save As.

Saving the Web Page
When I save the page I give it a filename of Page-1.html, and it is saved in my local root folder. Note that the filename of the page is not the same as the Page Title.
Once I've saved the page I can see it in the Files and Assets panel, which is normally in the bottom right hand corner of the CS5 workspace.

Another important location for information is the area towards the top right of the workspace. There is a tab there for each of the pages I have open. You can see a tab for Page-1.html. When I've finished working on that page I can click on the X on the tab to close the page.

Create a Web Page From Dreamweaver Welcome Screen
Another option for creating a new page is to select the file type you want - in this case choose HTML in the Create New column in the centre - at the Welcome Screen. Once you've done that, the rest of the page creation works in the same way.
