Keyboard Shortcuts in Dreamweaver CS5
This tutorial will show you how to use keyboard shortcuts in Dreamweaver CS5.
We've already seen some keyboard shortcuts in Dreamweaver CS5. Not everybody uses them as there are so many to remember, but you can use a list in a book or via online help, and many people only use a subset of them for the commands they use most often.
The built-in keyboard shortcuts are arranged into sets, and you can copy and rearrange these if you want to.
Choose Keyboard Shortcuts... from near the bottom of the Edit menu.

You now see the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog.

The current set of keyboard shortcuts is shown and it's Dreamweaver Standard. To the right of the current set is a group of four buttons. The left hand button creates a duplicate set.

Click the Duplicate set button and you are asked for a name for your duplicate set.

Enter a name and click OK. You now have a duplicate set with your chosen name. To select this set at any time use the dropdown next to the current set.
We are now going to make some changes to the duplicate set. Make sure your duplicate set is selected as the current set, then choose a category. I've chosen Menu Command. Here is section of the display.

Note that some commands have keyboard shortcuts and some do not. To remove a keyboard shortcut, simply select it and press the Remove Shortcut(-) button. Here I've chosen to remove the keyboard shortcut for the Justify command.

I'm now going to add a keyboard shortcut for the Attach Style Sheet... command. I can use any keyboard shortcut that is not in use elsewhere, so I'll use the one I just removed from the Justify command. It was Ctrl+Alt+Shift+J. Select the Attach Style Sheet... command and enter the keyboard shortcut in the Press key box by actually using the keyboard shortcut itself. Then click the Add Item(+) button and then OK.

The keyboard shortcut is assigned to the command.
You can have as many sets of keyboard shortcuts as you need. It's a good idea not to change the Dreamweaver Standard set, and better to duplicate it and tailor the copy.
When you've finished using a keyboard shortcut set and no longer need it, select it in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog and press the Delete button.

Then press OK and the set will have gone.
