Using CSS Styles Panel
This tutorial illustrates using the CSS Styles Panel in Dreamweaver CS5.
The CSS Styles Panel is an excellent tool for managing both internal and external styles.
Let's start again with this document.

To open the CSS Styles Panel, select it on the Window menu.

The panel lists the internal styles available in the document.

Clicking on one of the styles (rules), I can see its properties. Here I've selected body.

Now let me attach an external style sheet to the document. I'll use the one we created earlier again, using the Format CSS Styles Attach Style Sheet option.
A new entry appears in the CSS Styles Panel. It is normally added in collapsed form, but here I've expanded it to show all of the styles (rules) on the external style sheet.

I've also collapsed the list of internal styles and selected the .header style in the external sheet. You can see its properties at the bottom of the panel.
Apart from the useful listing of all of the available styles with their properties, the CSS Styles Panel also provides some useful command buttons.
For example, there is a button to delete the selected CSS style.

Other useful command buttons include ones to attach a style sheet, create a new CSS rule or edit a CSS style sheet. You can identify each of these at the bottom of the panel from their tool tips.
