Working with Toolbars in Dreamweaver CS5
This tutorial will illustrate working with toolbars in Dreameaver CS5
We're now going to look at the Dreamweaver Environment. This is the set of all those facilities, features and tools that Dreamweaver provides for you to maintain your web sites. We'll just refer to it as the environment, and you will want to customize it to help your authoring requirements, style and approach.
The environment includes windows, panels, a status bar and a number of tools. But, first of all, we're going to look at toolbars.
Working with Toolbars
Toolbars contain command buttons, and these give you a quick way of performing some of the most common Dreamweaver tasks. There are four toolbars in Dreamweaver CS5 in general, and one more that we only use when coding.
First of all, let's see how to switch the toolbars on and off. With a page from our site open, click on the View menu then scroll down to Toolbars. A fly-out menu appears indicating which toolbars are currently being shown.

As you can see, I currently have the Document toolbar and the Browser Navigation toolbar visible. Here is the Document toolbar.

Document Toolbar
This toolbar allows you to change views, enter or update the title of a page, preview pages, and so on. Each button on the toolbar has a tool tip that you can see if you hover over the button without clicking it. That can help you to identify or remember the purpose of each button. Here's the tool tip for the Live View button.

Now hide the Document toolbar by unchecking it on the fly-out menu and note the effect. Experiment with hiding and unhiding the toolbars.
Here's the Browser Navigation toolbar, which is new in Dreamweaver CS5. It allows you to follow links and browse pages.

We'll look at the other toolbars as we need them, but here are some useful tips.
Tips for Using the Dreamweaver Toolbars
If you right click on a toolbar you see the fly-out menu and can hide and unhide any of the four toolbars.

The other toolbar is only visible in Code view and Split view. It's the Coding toolbar, and if I right click on a toolbar when in Code view my toolbar menu now has five options.
